[Stacking The Shelves #12] 2016’s 1st Quarter Bookhaul

Processed with MOLDIV

Okay, I confess. Months have passed and I have failed to post any book haul posts here on Book Freak Revelations, nor on my bookstagram account. Other than the time constraint I have on me right now, I really don’t have that much of a book budget right now. Having an internship contract at the commercial center of the Metro isn’t really a cheap walk in the park, if I’m being honest, so it took me about 2 months to draft my next Stacking the Shelves post. And have I mentioned how much I missed hauling books? I MISSED IT SO BLOODYDAMN MUCH!

[Event Recap #11] #VictoriaAveyardinPH

Poster - Victoria Aveyard

So last Sunday, March 6, 2016, I attended my first ever book signing event for the new year. Once again hosted by National Book Store, the event was for the Filipino fans of Victoria Aveyard, the New York Times Bestselling Author of Red Queen, and Glass Sword.

Red Queen, as some of you may already know, might not have made my top 15 books of 2015, but I enjoyed that book just the same, so meeting Victoria Aveyard was a great start to an author-filled year.

[Book Tags #8] The R.I.P. It or Ship It Book Tag

Processed with MOLDIV

Okay, so my good friend Salve from Cuckoo for Books tagged me to do the R.I.P. It or Ship It Book Tag. (Watch her entry here.) When I first saw this tag over at Christine’s Booktube Channel, I thought that this tag was only for booktubers. I mean, reactions would be a lot more legit if this was so, right? But it feels like a fun tag to do so I might as well join in on the fun. So, down below are the names of pairs that I got. By the way, I wrote 30 names, so I’m writing down 15 pairs. 🙂

[Book Review #49] Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Processed with MOLDIV

This is a world divided by blood – red or silver.

The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change.

That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power.

Fearful of Mare’s potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime.

But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance – Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart…

[Bookish Thoughts #2] My Exams Have Started!!! Wait, What?

Processed with MOLDIV

So my Preliminary Exams have already started last Friday, and as you may have already noticed, I’ve been a little inactive lately due to the immense number of duties I have on me for school. I have meetings to attend to, photo shoots to participate in, and tons of paperwork that needs my immediate attention. With that said, I have vowed to myself that I’ll be surrendering my accounts until I accomplish every little thing with regards to my academics. As much as I love reading books, taking bookish photos to share on Instagram, and writing book reviews for the world to see, my academics are still my top priority. Until then, I am officially signing off!
