Celebrating a book blogging anniversary is pretty much the same as celebrating a birthday. It marks another year into one’s life, and I’m so glad to have been able to stay and grow alongside everyone that I’ve met for the past 3 years. The bookish YA / book blogging community has been my safe haven for the longest time, and so I want to reflect on the great parts of my journey, and share them all with you, as I always do. I also have giveaways planned for everyone to join so be sure to check out this anniversary post to know how to get your hands on some exciting books!
Yes, I know 2016 is over. And it’s been 2 weeks since 2017 started, but believe me when I tell you that I won’t be moving on from these books anytime soon. Today, I’m more than elated to be sharing with everyone 10 of the best books I’ve read last year. If you’re a friend, you probably already know what tops this list, but I still need to dedicate an entire blog post about it. Okay?
Can anyone honestly believe we’re actually down to the last day of the year? Because I can’t. I mean, 2016 has honestly given quite a few punches here and there, but I can’t blatantly say that it was horrible. I’ve achieved quite a few of my resolutions, met lots of wonderful people, worked with a few publishers, read some amazing and life-changing books… I think it’s unfair to say that I didn’t enjoy 2016.
Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.
Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.
The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?
This month has been fabulous! From landing a job, to co-hosting a bookish meet-up for Filipino book nerds, July will be embedded in my mind as one of the best months yet of 2016! It’s been fun, but of course, all good months must eventually come to an end. Here’s a rundown of everything that went down during July of 2016! 🙂
