Wow, I mean… How do I even begin to write the recap for my all-time favorite bookish event? Tell me, because I seriously need to know. For almost 4 years now, I’ve been dreaming of meeting Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli, and just last Sunday, this dream of mine came true all because of the efforts of National Bookstore. They brought the What If It’s Us authors to Manila and Cebu for signing events, and we’ve been given the chance to sit down and grab breakfast with them, and MY FEELINGS?
Yeah, they’re EVERYWHERE. It’s a surprise to me that I’m able to write this roundup right now, but I obviously need to try and do it justice. So let’s get this started.

I’m not sure if my event recap introductions ever get too common for y’all because it feels like I’ve been writing stuff like this for years. But just last Sunday, August 12th, marked the end of this year’s Philippine Readers and Writers Festival hosted, as always, by the lovely people from National Bookstore. And for the second time in a row, I was once again invited to be a part of a panel! This year, my Bookworms Unite PH team and I were lucky enough to be given the chance to talk about our little Filipino YA community and how it all started. And I also met Erin Entrada Kelly and Adi Alsaid for a signing! *gasps enthusiastically* Read on for a complete rundown of my #PRWF2018 experience.

For three years now, #BookwormsUnitePH has undoubtedly been widely anticipated by bookish Filipinos who live around the metro. And just last Sunday, July 16, I, together with my amazing team of hosts Hazel from Stay Bookish, Miel from Bookish and Awesome, Inah from The Bibliophile Confessions, Jasmine from Jasmine Pearl Reads, and Salve from Cuckoo for Books, once again hosted this lovely event at the Tweedle Book Café, Quezon City!
With the success brought about by last year’s event, of course, WE felt motivated to once again host this exciting shindig to meet up with bookish friends, both old and new, talk to them about our latest and/or favorite reads, and just bond over the passion that literally united us enough to meet that Sunday morning. After having experienced the overflowing feels of the previous #romanceclass event I went to last February, just like any obsessed being, I needed to experience the thrill again. To buy those locally published books and have them signed by the authors. To witness such attractive people read excerpts from some of my favorite stories. And to meet some of the #romanceclass community members… What an enthralling ride, yes? Today, I’m ecstatic to be sharing with you all how my day went during #AprilFeelsDay2017!

Last year, there were plenty of opportunities for me to support plenty of Filipino authors. It was the year that the #romanceclass reading trend started, at least that’s what I know. But for some reason, a part of me didn’t want to get in on board with other Filipino readers. There were live-reading and/or signing events every now and then, but I failed to attend or support at least one. So this year, albeit being late, I’m going to try and fully help and support Filipino authors promote their books and/or advocacies. I think it’s about time for me to actually post some Filipino content here on Book Freak Revelations, and now, I’m excited to share with everyone my first event recap of the year! This one covers the recently held #romanceclass event at the Ayala Museum entitled #BitterxSweet!
