[Stacking The Shelves #17] Fall 2016 Book Haul + Recap

Okay, so it’s no secret that ever since I got fully adjusted with work, that I’ve been quite inactive on here. Only being able to post fully drafted and scheduled posts, I’m really quite limited. With Sundays being the only free day I get to brainstorm and word vomit, I can’t help but neglect and leave Book Freak Revelations hanging every now and then. It’s with a prideful heart, though, that today, I get to finally share with everyone ALL THE BOOKS I got during the months of October and November! It’s been months since I last posted a haul post, so I might as well post one now, right?

Last October, National Book Store had this nationwide #NBSCutPrice2016 sale wherein most, if not all, of their YA books on display got 20-40% off discounts! (I knoooow, right?) So it comes as no surprise that I dragged my butt to the my nearest branch and hauled quite a few titles on different days. Here are the books I got:

  1. Been Here All Along by Sandy Hall
  2. No Holding Back by Kate Evangelista
  3. The Midnight Star by Marie Lu
  4. My Lady Jane by the Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows
  5. Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven
  6. Something In Between by Melissa Dela Cruz
  7. P.S. I Like You by Kasie West
  8. Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard: The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

Massive thanks to National Book Store for allowing me to finally purchase the titles (some of which, I’ve been dying to get my hands on since forever), and to my friend Camille for gifting me with Holding Up The Universe. I’m extremely grateful, my dear.

As for November, since it’s actually my birth month, I was gifted with some books by some of my thoughtful friends, and I came up with this lovely stack for my November Book Haul:

Much thanks to National Book Store, HarperCollins International, Epic Reads, Penguin Random House, Icon International EventsHazel of Stay Bookish, Louisse of The Soul Sisters, Josiah of The Bookish Fanboy, and Jasmine of Jasmine Pearl Reads for gifting me with ARCs, finished copies, and bookish swags. I greatly appreciate all your gifts.

Posts Published

I was only able to publish a few reviews and discussion posts basically because work intensely swallowed me whole ever since I started to get the hang of the atmosphere in our office. But anyhow, here are all the posts that went live since October:

  1. 4★ ARC Review of Everyone We’ve Been by Sarah Everett (Thanks, by the way, to my friend Inah for letting me join her local blog tour!)
  2. 4★ ARC Review of Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (This time, all thanks go to my friend Kate for, again, letting me be a part of the tour!)
  3. 5★ ARC Review of The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon (This time, I was the one hosting the tour, and, if you haven’t seen me fangirling basically everywhere about this title, then you might want to just read the book for yourself and find out for yourself why I can’t stop raving about it!)
  4. 4★ ARC Review of Heartless by Marissa Meyer (Much thanks again to Louisse for letting me borrow her ARC! It certainly made my Fall season a lot more exciting!)
  5. #TheThanksUGive || Thankful Ten: 10 Things (or People) I’m Most Thankful For (A Thanksgiving post to celebrate all the people who’ve made this blogging journey so exciting, fulfilling, and just plain satisfying.)

And that’s basically it for this post! I can’t believe we’re down to the last month of the year! Indeed, time does fly by when you’re having a blast. I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for me, as a book blogger, and as an actual adult. Stay with me, bibliophiles! I can’t wait to get my chance to talk to you all. 🙂

Until the next one!Capture

  1. Lovely haul JM! I really enjoyed #NBSCutPrice2016 too (because…hauling tendencies hahaha!) And OOOOH you have Hammer of Thor! Currently reading that one and loving it so far!

Looking forward to more of your posts in the future! (and I hope adult-ing life isn’t treating you too badly)

    Cheers!
    Ailla ❤

    PS.
Heard you visited the University last week. Too bad I wasn't able to see you 😦 Next time hopefully 🙂
