Even if I’m already working, I’m (almost) always ready to attend bookish events. Some would consider me a social butterfly (a bookish one, that is) just because I really love spending time with my friends, both old and new, bonding over books at signing events or just plain coffee. I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Today, I’m sharing my weekend plans with everyone because the time has finally come for the annual Philippine Literary Festival, only this time it has a new name! National Book Store (the one and only host of the iconic event) decided to call it The Readers and Writers Festival! Fancy, right? Anyway, here are a few details about the event:
As specified on the event poster, The Philippine Readers and Writers Festival 2016 will be held on the 26th to the 28th of August at Raffles Makati (it’s where I interned last during the first quarter of the year)! It’s going to be nostalgic to be back, but this time, I’m going to be a guest, and not an intern (YAS).
Now for the specifics: This time around, National Book Store is bringing three bestselling authors to the Philippines for the Author Spotlight. Paula Mclain (author of Paris Wife and Circling The Sun), and Adam Johnson (Pulitzer and National Book Award winning author of The Orphan Master’s Son and Fortune Smiles) will be having a signing event on August 27, Saturday, at 1:00 – 4:00PM at the 2nd Ballroom Hall. Anna Todd (Bestselling author of the After series), on the other hand, will be signing books on August 28, Sunday at 2:00PM! There will also be tons of other exhibitors and panelists to attend and I’m just going to leave this here:

Personally, I’m most interested in checking out the Book Blogging 101: Growing Web and Social Media Presence to Promote Books panel! Other than the obvious, I’m going to support my girl friends and listen to what they have to say and maybe learn a thing or two from their bookish experiences. I consider these ladies as book blogging (and bookstagraming) royalty and they’ve been an inspiration not just to me, but to the entire Filipino reading community, so I’m not going to miss this chance! If you’re up for it, the panel is on August 28, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Namayan Room, still at Raffles Makati! I’m also meeting up with my other blogger friends and I would love to meet some of you guys there!
For more details on the this event, again, check out the poster I have above or check out National Book Store’s Twitter account for more updates!
Are you coming to see any of the authors during The Readers and Writers Festival? Will I see you there? Talk to me! The comment section is always open!
Until the next one!
