[Book Tags #6] The Midyear (3rd Quarter, Actually) Book Freak Out Tag

Processed with MOLDIV

The amazing Trisha Ann of The Bookgasm Blog tagged me to do the Midyear Book Freak Out Tag! You should check out her entry here. I’ve been wanting to do this tag for quite some time now, but, as you may already know, I just came back from a hiatus because of my exams, but now, no one or nothing is going to stop me from this tag! Huzzah!

Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2015

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy. This book was, in every way, delighting to read. The characters were very modern and very relatable, the events found within it’s pages were highly realistic and this book will make you feel feelings. No kidding. Go grab it! (I had a tough time choosing between this, All The Bright Places, and Throne of Glass, btw.)

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2015

The Heir by Kiera Cass. For those who know me, you probably know how much I love this series. It may not be as highly recommended by a lot of people, but I don’t care. I love this series and I’m so sad that it’s about to come to an end come May 2016. But anyway, I loved reading from Eadlyn Schreave’s perspective. She’s a queen-to-be, and she damn knows it! Also, what I admire most about her is that she knows what she wants and she’ll stop at nothing to obtain it.

New Release you Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To

Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. I know next to nothing about this one. All I can say is that it’s about OCD, it’s a love story, and it’s a contemporary. Also, it has a clean, white cover. I have to read it soon! Also, it has been recommended to me countless times. We’ll see…

Most Anticipated Release for the Second Half of the Year

I am most excited for these two books. Winter by Marissa Meyer and November 9 by Colleen Hoover. Winter is the 4th book in the Lunar Chronicles series and is a retelling of the classic fairy tale, Snow White. On the other hand, November 9 is another NA work of art by the amazing Colleen Hoover, it’s a contemporary, obviously, and I need my hands on that book!

Biggest Disappointment

Never Never 2 by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher. I was disappointed not because I didn’t like the book, but because I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!! I can’t believe I still have to wait months before I could get to the next book in the series! But, I did love this book.

Biggest Surprise

What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler. It was a surprise to me that I was able to review an ARC this year! Not only was I able to review an ARC, but one that I highly anticipated. That moment was very memorable for me!

Favorite New Author

Sarah J. Maas easily became one of my favorite authors. Why? Go ahead and read the Throne of Glass series and ACOTAR. Get back to me when you’re done and you’ll probably answer your question once you’re done. She’s such a creative author who does a great job telling stories of love and action. I can’t wait for her next book entitled A Court of Mist and Fury, sequel to the NYT Bestseller, A Court of Thorns and Roses!

Newest Fictional Crush

Imagine that’s Chaol Westfall from Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series. If you’ve been following my blog for quite sometime now, you would probably know about the biggest fictional crush I have for Adarlan’s favorite captain of the guard. Chaol is sweet, tamed, and very sensitive, making him a great fictional crush for the likes of millions of bibliophiles.

Newest Favorite Character

Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series, of course, is my newest favorite character! After the likes of Katniss and Tris Prior, of course Celaena HAD to be next! She’s an assassin who loves food and a little bit of romance. What more could I ask for?

Book That Made You Cry

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. Seriously? Do I have to explain myself again? This book torn me apart. It made me feel feelings that I never even knew I had, especially for fictional characters. You MUST check out my review of this book here.

Book That Made You Happy

IMG_4826

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. This book is a retelling of the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast, which happens to be my favorite. And seeing the resemblance between that and Maas’ superb writing just made me a very happy bibliophile.

Favorite Book to Film Adaptation You Saw This Year

IMG_0350

Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern. This was a very very sweet movie filled with great lessons about falling in love with your best friend. I, being a hopeless romantic who loves this kind of stories, automatically decided that I had to watch this as soon as it was out. I loved the movie! Although, I have to admit, I still haven’t read the book yet. *sighs*

Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year

IMG_5202

Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith. As much as I enjoy reading and reviewing finished copies of books, it’s a plus when you get to review ARCs. And when I had the chance to review another sure-favorite from the legendary Jennifer E. Smith, I knew I had to read it at once! The fact that I loved this book so much made my reviewing an easy and enjoyable one.

Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought So Far This Year

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. If we’re going to talk about the beauty of the cover of this debut novel by Nicola, then I have to admit, I am lost for words. The illustration is amazing and the color scheme is to die for (I love white covers!!) Also, the story is amazing. You should check my review out!

What Books Do You Need To Read Before The End of The Year?

Here are some books I’m planning to read sometime soon. They are contemporaries and y’all know how much I love them contempos!

  1. Insipid by Christine Brae
  2. Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
  3. Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid
  4. Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider
  5. Simon V.S. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

This was fun! Reminiscing my reading experience for some of my favorite reads this year was so fun! Now, I’m tagging some of you guys so you could experience the fun!
